{"id":49100,"date":"2017-04-19T22:08:02","date_gmt":"2017-04-19T22:08:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ahay.org\/blog\/?p=49100"},"modified":"2017-04-19T22:08:02","modified_gmt":"2017-04-19T22:08:02","slug":"program-of-the-month-sfseislet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ahay.org\/blog\/2017\/04\/19\/program-of-the-month-sfseislet\/","title":{"rendered":"Program of the month: sfseislet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"\/RSF\/sfseislet.html\">sfseislet<\/a> implements the 2-D seislet transform.<\/p>\n<p>The seislet transform theory is descibed in the paper <a href=\"\/RSF\/book\/tccs\/seislet\/paper_html\/\">Seislet transform and seislet frame<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The following example from <a href=\"\/RSF\/book\/tccs\/fpwd\/teapot.html\">fpwd\/teapot<\/a> shows a 3-D seismic image before and after a seislet transform in the inline direction.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/RSF\/book\/tccs\/fpwd\/teapot\/Fig\/cuber.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" \/> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/RSF\/book\/tccs\/fpwd\/teapot\/Fig\/fseis1.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To perform the forward seislet transform, run <strong>sfseislet<\/strong> with the flag <strong>adj=y<\/strong>. To run the inverse transform, use <strong>adj=n<\/strong>. In a confusing choice of parameter names, <strong>inv=<\/strong> does not control the direction of the transform but the type of the weighting function used. Another control is provided by <strong>unit=<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A required auxiliary input is the dip field specified by <strong>dip=<\/strong>. If the dip was estimated using plane-wave destruction (<a href=\"\/RSF\/sfdip.html\">sfdip<\/a>), the <strong>order=<\/strong> parameter should be the same. <\/p>\n<p>Different types of the seislet transform (specified by <strong>type=<\/strong>) correspond to different types of the corresponding <a href=\"\/blog\/2010\/07\/19\/is-there-a-graphical-user-interface-to-madagascar\/\">digital wavelet transform<\/a>.
