{"id":368,"date":"2014-02-06T09:33:53","date_gmt":"2014-02-06T09:33:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ahay.org\/blog\/?p=368"},"modified":"2015-08-30T13:53:10","modified_gmt":"2015-08-30T13:53:10","slug":"program-of-the-month-sfdipfilter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ahay.org\/blog\/2014\/02\/06\/program-of-the-month-sfdipfilter\/","title":{"rendered":"Program of the month: sfdipfilter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"\/RSF\/sfdipfilter.html\">sfdipfilter<\/a> filters input data based on a range of dips (slopes).<\/p>\n<p>The following example from <a href=\"\/RSF\/book\/rsf\/su\/rsfdipfilt.html\">rsf\/su\/rsfdipfilt<\/a> (borrowed from one of <a href=\"\/blog\/2010\/08\/17\/madagascar-for-users-of-seismic-unix\/\">Seismic Unix<\/a> demos) shows a synthetic dataset with three events before and after dip filtering: <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/RSF\/book\/rsf\/su\/rsfdipfilt\/Fig\/data.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" \/> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/RSF\/book\/rsf\/su\/rsfdipfilt\/Fig\/middle.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>sfdipfilter<\/strong> operates in 2-D or 3-D Fourier transform domain, with the dimensionality specified by <strong>dim=<\/strong>. The dip range is specified either by angles (if <strong>angle=y<\/strong>) or by velocities (if <strong>angle=n<\/strong>). The four parameters (either <strong>ang1=<\/strong>, <strong>ang2=<\/strong>, <strong>ang3=<\/strong>, <strong>ang4=<\/strong> or <strong>v1=<\/strong>, <strong>v2=<\/strong>, <strong>v3=<\/strong>, <strong>v4=<\/strong>) specify the range. If <strong>pass=y<\/strong>, the range between v2 and v3 is passed, and the range below v1 or above v4 is rejected. If <strong>pass=n<\/strong>, the range between v2 and v3 is rejected, and the range below v1 or above v4 is passed.
