{"id":315,"date":"2013-02-09T15:48:21","date_gmt":"2013-02-09T15:48:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ahay.org\/blog\/?p=315"},"modified":"2015-09-02T12:50:17","modified_gmt":"2015-09-02T12:50:17","slug":"program-of-the-month-sfpwd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ahay.org\/blog\/2013\/02\/09\/program-of-the-month-sfpwd\/","title":{"rendered":"Program of the month: sfpwd"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"\/RSF\/sfpwd.html\">sfpwd<\/a> implements plane-wave destruction, a filter that attenuates locally plane-wave events, as described in the paper <a href=\"\/RSF\/book\/sep\/pwd\/paper_html\/\">Applications of plane-wave destruction filters<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The following example from <a href=\"\/RSF\/book\/jsg\/diffr\/gom.html\">jsg\/diffr\/gom<\/a> shows a seismic section before and after an application of <strong>sfpwd<\/strong>: <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/RSF\/book\/jsg\/diffr\/gom\/Fig\/gom.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" \/> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/RSF\/book\/jsg\/diffr\/gom\/Fig\/gom-pwd.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>sfpwd<\/strong> takes two input files: a 2-D or 3-D seismic data, and the local slope estimated by <a href=\"\/blog\/2012\/06\/02\/program-of-the-month-sfdip\/\">sfdip<\/a> and specified by <strong>dip=<\/strong> parameter. When applied to 3-D data, <strong>sfpwd<\/strong> can produce either one output (inline or crossline destruction) or two outputs (both inline and crossline desctructions). This is controlled by the <strong>which=<\/strong> parameter.
